The Association of Boards of Certification
In 1972, water and wastewater industry leaders began conversations which developed the groundwork for an association to foster operator certification throughout North America. From those early discussions, the Association of Boards of Certification was born.
Today, our Association includes almost 100 certifying authorities, representing more than 40 states, nine Canadian provinces as well as several international programs. These programs certify over 150,000 water and wastewater operators, laboratory analysts, plant maintenance technologists, biosolids land appliers and backflow prevention assembly testers.
Notice: Application Processing to be Delayed June 15 - July 17, 2009
ABC is working to implement a more efficient system for processing and maintaining records for certification applications. Unfortunately, during the transition to the new system there will be a delay in processing ABC certification and renewal applications received between June 15 and July 17, 2009. You may continue to submit applications during that time and payments will be processed, but please be aware that the applications will not be processed until after July 17th, when they will be handled in the order received. The actual date received will be used to determine whether your renewal is submitted on time.
